The Master of Science in Business Administration (MSc BA) gives the opportunity to develop the understanding of management they acquired during their Bachelor’s course and specialise in a fast-growing area of competence.

In partnership with other academic institutions in the Business, Management and Services field, it offers four different Majors:

    UAS Bachelor’s in Business, Management and Services (or equivalent)

    A minimum of one year’s experience in the field of Business or Management.

    Language requirements :

    • Level B1 in French for the Strategic foresight and Management of Information System majors.
    • Level B1 in English for the Entrepreneurship and Business in Eurasia majors.

Course

The MSc BA is an opportunity to deepen the knowledge gained at Bachelor’s level. It offers:

  • Projects in collaboration with the private / public sector and research institutes
  • Cross-disciplinary specialisations leading to opportunities in numerous areas
  • The chance to develop social and methodological skills
  • A timetable that allows you to study while working part time (50%).

MSc BA - Entrepreneurship major MSc BA - Strategic foresight major MSc BA - Management of Information Systems major MSc BA - Business in Eurasia major

Study plan

The study plan is organised so that students can continue to work part time, from Monday to Wednesday. Classes take place on Thursdays and Fridays (all day) and on Saturday mornings.

A new study plan will be introduced at the start of the academic year 2024, and will be implemented in stages: from the 2024-2025 academic year for the 1st year of study, and from the 2025-2026 academic year for the 2nd year.

The core modules are identical for all students, regardless of their choice of major, and take place in Lausanne.

Compulsory core modules (12 ECTS credits)

  • Research Methods I : Multivariate Statistics, Data Science
  • Research Methods II : Qualitative Methods & Research Methodology
  • Research Methods III : Preparing for the Master Thesis
  • Project management

Elective core modules (15 ECTS credits - 3 modules among the 8 offered)

  • Applied Behavioural Economics & Decision Making or Innovation Management
  • Strategy or Négocier et convaincre
  • Applied Sustainable Economics or New Technologies
  • Debating Ethical Issues or Business intelligence

Admission requirements

Unconditional admission to the MSc BA is available to:

  • Holders of a UAS Bachelor’s in a field related to Business, Management and Services
  • Holders of a Bachelor’s awarded by a Swiss university in the field of business and management, and who have a minimum of one year’s experience in the fields of business, management and services.

All other cases are subject to an admission procedure based on a portfolio of evidence. Applicants must have a qualification equivalent to a UAS Bachelor’s in Business Economics and a minimum of one year’s experience in the field of Business or Management.

Career prospects

The multidisciplinary knowledge acquired through the MSc BA equips you to respond to the challenges that affect the whole economy. Graduates may therefore join businesses ranging from multinationals to small and medium-sized local companies. They are also well placed to invest in a start-up. The numerous applied projects carried out in the various majors prepare them to work in areas such as:

  • Management of companies or public/quasi-public institutions
  • Project management in service development, in fields such as information systems, strategic intelligence or future strategy
  • Consultancy
  • Business Analyst
  • Creation and development of innovative businesses or services
  • Creation and management of intelligence, forecasting and/or future planning activities in a public or private-sector organisation
  • Implementation and development of companies in Eurasia.
