The Swiss Programme for Erasmus+ for the higher education sector is called Swiss-European Mobility Programme SEMP. SEMP enables higher education institutions to financially support HES-SO students for study or work experience stays in Europe, and European students for study or work stays in Switzerland.

Study

  • Existence of a bilateral SEMP contract between HES-SO and your university. Ask your university for more information.
  • Duration: minimum 2 months / maximum 12 months.
  • Additional university-specific criteria.

Internship

  • Duration: minimum 2 months / maximum 12 months.
  • Additional university-specific criteria.
  • Internships in Swiss companies are possible for European students. Grants for internships may be obtained through an HES-SO university, subject to certain university-specific conditions. However, the number of grants available is very limited.

HES-SO promotes "green mobility" and makes available a series of documents on the subject prepared by Movetia.

As a student entering the new mobility programme, you may be eligible for a grant.

The amount of the grant varies between CHF 380 and CHF 440 per month for the 2022-2023 academic year, depending on the country of destination/provenance and the type of mobility.

To apply for a grant, please contact the international relations office of the host university.

Accommodations are provided to any university student whose individual physical, mental or health condition would make it difficult for them to take part in mobility activities.

Student who need accommodations can apply to the host university for additional grants (up to a maximum of CHF 12,000) to cover part of the costs incurred as a result of their disability during their mobility stay. Such grants only cover costs for which the student concerned would not otherwise receive support.

For all inquiries, please contact the international relations office of the host university.
