The Master's in Film enables students to develop their own cinematographic vision, understand how films are made and get to grips with the various stages of film production. By the end of the course, students are ready to enter the film industry. The programme is run jointly by the Lausanne University of Art and Design (ECAL) and HEAD – Geneva and draws on each school's specific expertise.

About the course

This Master’s programme is the only one of its kind in Europe and was created in partnership with The Manufacture school of performing arts. The programme is part of the Réseau Cinéma CH, which brings together the universities of Lausanne, Zurich, Basel and Italian-speaking Switzerland, as well as the Cinémathèque Suisse national film archive.

It trains filmmakers both in front of and behind the camera so that they can create their own cinematographic approach combining a unique form of narration and a coherent visual language.
