Presentation of the project
The digitalization of humanitarian supply chains allows overcoming one of the greatest difficulties faced by NGOs and governments in managing health equipment in crisis situations: the visibility of stocks and consumption at the end of the chain.
In this context, the School of Management of Fribourg (HEG-FR), in collaboration with Saint-Joseph University, hosted the "Using Technology Towards Better Humanitarian Aid" event in Beirut on December 17-18, 2018. Promoted by the Lebanese Swiss Embassy, this event attracted professionals from health services, NGOs, and start-ups, fostering collaboration among experts, practitioners, and policymakers to address humanitarian aid challenges for refugees. The main conference drew 50 participants, while three workshops engaged an additional 45 attendees. A working network focused on technology for humanitarian aid was formed, with 17 participants expressing interest.
On December 9, 2019, HEG-FR organized a second event at Hassan II University in Casablanca, titled "The Management of Medicines and Medical Equipment in Morocco in the Age of Digitalization." This gathering focused on improving the management and delivery of medical supplies in Morocco, involving students, government representatives, and civil society. Both events produced various dissemination materials, including invitations and newsletters, to enhance outreach and impact.
