The Master in Life Sciences joins the European Vinifera Consortium

HES-SO Master Publié le 18.12.2024. Mis à jour le 10.01.2025.

The Master's programme in Life Sciences (MLS) has reached a significant milestone in its commitment to excellence in viticulture and oenology. Having been an associate partner of the European Vinifera Consortium since 2020, the programme has now become a full-fledged member of this academic network.

This partnership enables students in the Viticulture & Oenology specialization to pursue their second year of studies at one of the consortium's partner universities, such as Hochschule Geisenheim in Germany, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in Spain, the Universities of Turin and Udine in Italy, or the University of Lisbon in Portugal.

A Dual Degree and New Opportunities

This opportunity also offers students a dual degree: a Master in Life Sciences worth 90 ECTS credits and the Vinifera Euromaster worth 120 ECTS credits, thereby enhancing their international profile.

From the institution’s perspective, new horizons are opening up. Starting in 2025, HES-SO will be able to host students from the Vinifera program for their second year of studies, with at least four students allocated per semester. These international students will participate in modules taught in Changins and complete their Master’s Thesis under the supervision of HES-SO faculty. This initiative will stimulate local research while strengthening academic and cultural exchanges.
