Health scientists, practitioners, researchers, managers and policymakers are invited to the first international conference on workforce shortage in health care professions. «Countering Staff Shortage Among Health Professions – Together for a Healthy Health Care System» will take place in Bern on the 25th - 26th of October, 2018.

This conference is part of the national project «Strategy to counter staff shortage among health professions» and it will take place every two years.

The project team, consisting of representatives from five Universities of Applied Sciences in Health in Switzerland, has co-organized this conference. The project team, together with the International Scientific Committee and the Support Group, also form the Competence Network Health Workforce (CNHW).

This first conference will focus on clinically relevant, practice-oriented, and interprofessional scientific knowledge, regarding measures aimed at reducing workforce shortage among health professions. The conference theme, «Countering Staff Shortage Among Health Professions – Together for a Healthy Health Care System», aims to encourage clinicians, educators and researchers to participate as visitors and/or as presenters.  It also aims to offer a first comprehensive overview of the work completed to date within this topic.

The geographical diversity of presenters along with a diverse conference programme provides a framework offering multiple perspectives and opportunities.
