Horizon 2020 – ICT Information and networking

The event was directed mainly to HES-SO researchers and industrial partners working in ICT. There were 16 participants from 5 HES-SO schools and 5 companies, active in areas including ICT, security, energy, material sciences, health and tourism. This event was organised in collaboration between HES-SO, the Euresearch Network, and the Enterprise Europe Network, and was hosted by the Haute école du paysage, d’ingénierie et d’architecture de Genève - hepia.

Given that ICT has been integrated across all areas in Horizon 2020 (H2020), the event was of interest not only for researchers working on ICT, but also for those planning to submit proposals in any topics with an ICT component.

Information session

The event offered the latest information about the H2020 – ICT Work Programme 2018-2020, as well as advice on how to identify possible Topics of interest and find partners to submit proposals. Funding opportunities for universities and companies to innovate together were highlighted.

Flash presentations

8 participants presented their research and innovation interest in 4-minute time-slots. The aim was to prepare the participants for similar presentations at information days organised by the European Commission where they could promote their competences and connect with potential patners.

Internal brokerage event

An internal brokerage event was conducted to familiarize the participants with the face-to-face meetings widely used at international networking events. Each participant had 3 face-to-face meetings with other participants to discuss their research and innovation interest, as well as possible ideas for collaboration. Through this exercise, participants got in contact with colleagues from other schools and organisations, which can have positive effects beyond the H2020 calls.
