The information gathered covers a spectrum ranging from environment measurements (noise, temperature, humidity, presence for instance) to physiological sensors worn directly by customers, which provide information such as stress, heart rate or position. All those values, produced by a variety of systems with different protocols, are then brought back to gateway servers that can handle all those different protocols (BLE, KNX, SPI, Zigbee, …) and produce out of them a unified software view of the sensors. This homogeneous view of the gathered information is then made available through a RESTFul API or can be used, through MQTT messaging, for different use cases, in context such as home automation, event security monitoring or system surveillance.
The heart of this project is to provide a modular building block for the iNUIT program which can be tailored for different scenarios ranging from home surveillance to larger event monitoring.
